You are reflecting today: this is the fourth and final scheduled revisit of your personal statement. You wrote the first version at the very start of the course, then returned to it when you looked at where you might go after school, again after the collaborative community task, and now after workplace engagement.

The person who walks out of a placement is not quite the person who walked in. Today's job is to put that difference on the page, bank Personal Statement V4 Final, and leave a short change note so future-you (and an examiner reading your Portfolio in Action response) can see how far the statement has travelled.

Three terms shape today's bank. Skim the table once, then keep them in view while you revise.

Work through Aoife's annotated V4 below one annotation at a time, then open your own V3 and placement (or equivalent) artefacts. Her earlier version was written after the community task; this one was written after three days at a local community pharmacy. The annotations show what workplace engagement actually does to a statement: it replaces vague claims with checkable moments, and it sharpens where she is going without erasing who she already was.

Before you draft, gather and highlight three things on your open files: one workplace or equivalent moment, one transferable skill with evidence, and one sentence from your latest draft you will cut or rewrite. You will need:

• your latest personal statement (V3, or the tailored placement paragraph if that is stronger), already open
• placement reflections, placement feedback note, or skills audit from the placement window; or, if you did not complete a full placement, part-time work notes, volunteering or shadowing notes, or the mock-interview write-up already banked in Strand 2.2
• your earliest source material if useful now (for example your early skills audit or the Tell Me About Yourself baseline you wrote in your first lesson)

Produce two artefacts in your Strand 2.2 folder:

• Personal Statement V4 Final (approximately 300–500 words: thorough yet concise). Incorporate at least one specific workplace moment, one transferable skill evidenced on placement or equivalent engagement, and a clearer line on where you are headed. Keep your own voice. Cut any sentence that could have been written by anyone in the room. Bank this document before you leave.
• Personal Statement V4 Change Note (roughly half a page when finished). Start it in class under three headings: what you added from workplace learning, what you cut and why, and how this version differs from your first Tell Me About Yourself baseline and from V3 after the community task. Name the four revisits in order if you can find the dates. Complete the headings and at least the workplace-learning bullet before you leave; finish the half page before the next lesson if you need more time.

This is the last time you are asked to revisit this statement. From here on you plan the areas you still want to develop, and the goals you carry forward should already be visible in what this statement now claims about you.

Use these pair prompts as a final quality pass on whatever you have drafted. It is fine if your change note is still a stub: the talk is meant to feed it, not to assume it is finished. Pick one sentence to stress-test, then fold your answer into the change note in class or as the first finish-at-home move.

• If someone who only knew you from your Lesson 1 Tell Me About Yourself answer read V4 Final today, what would surprise them most, and is that surprise evidenced or only claimed?
• Which single line in your new statement would be weakest if a workplace supervisor from your placement (or equivalent) read it cold, and what would you change before you banked it?
