You will learn eight German words for nature such as trees, grass and waterfalls. Say each with its article, label them on a landscape picture, write four in your copybook and listen to a short park scene.

    1 - Outside the Window ~5 mins

    Illustration for Outside the windowLook out of the classroom window for a moment. What can you see that was not made by people? Trees, grass, maybe a river or a hill?

    Today those everyday things get their German names, and you will hear them in a short park scene too.

    By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

    • Name eight nature features in German
    • Label a landscape with the right German words
    • Follow a short spoken scene at the park

    2 - Eight Nature Words ~10 mins

    Here are today's eight nature words. Tap each one, listen, then say it back together. Watch the article every time: der, die or das travels with the noun.

    3 - Label the Landscape ~10 mins

    A landscape is waiting with empty markers. Look at each part of the picture and click the correct German label.

    4 - Into Your Copy ~3 mins

    COPYBOOK MOMENT

    Open your copy and write four nature words with their articles, and tick the ones you could see from your own home.

    5 - At the Park ~10 mins

    Listen to a short scene at the park. You will hear it twice on the class speakers before anyone answers. Then choose the best answer for each question.
