You already captured two pieces of feedback on your Peer Feedback Round 1 page after the pair rehearsal. Today you turn that into a cleaner v4 of format 1, ready for a teacher check now and, later in the year, for the interview where you present this work to an examiner and answer questions on it.
Rejecting feedback is fine when you can say why it does not fit your examiner audience.
Today you will apply the feedback you were given, or write down why a suggestion does not suit your work; you will save format 1 as a v4 with a short change note; and you will show your teacher one accepted edit and one written accept-or-reject reason, either during class or first thing next lesson.
Missing files? Open the class recovery folder your teacher shared. Copy the sample format 1 and the two sample feedback lines into your own {{code:sm2}} folder (under two minutes), then follow the same v4 workflow as everyone else. Tell your teacher only if you cannot see the recovery folder.
Open {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}} (or the recovery sample notes). Take about 30 seconds: star one feedback point and scribble {{code:Accept?}} or {{code:Reject?}} beside it. Be ready to say why.
Four rules you will use today. The table stays on this page, so you can glance back at it any time while you work.
| Concept | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Accept with action — take the suggestion and change the work so a viewer can see the difference | Feedback only helps if the next version is clearly better; a note without an edit wastes the rehearsal | Partner said "opening is slow" on your side-hustle pitch; you cut the first 15 seconds and start on the problem you solve |
| Reject with a reason — keep the original choice and write one clear line explaining why | Blindly accepting every comment can wreck purpose or audience fit; a short reason shows you thought it through | Partner wants more jokes on a Work Experience placement pitch for the SEC examiner; you keep a formal tone and note "audience is examiner, not peers" |
| Change note — a one-line record of what you changed and what you kept, written on Peer Feedback Round 1 | Your teacher (and later your VET interview self) needs proof that revision happened on purpose | On {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}}: "Accepted cut-text-on-slide-3. Rejected add-cost-figure: numbers not final yet." |
| Version v4 — a copy of format 1, renamed to an exact pattern ending in {{code:_v4}}, then edited | Keeps the pre-feedback draft safe and shows a clear before/after trail in your portfolio | Do not keep your old filename. The v4 copy must use one of these exact names inside {{code:sm2}}: {{code:sm2_vet_presentation_v4}} (slides), {{code:sm2_vet_video_v4}} (CapCut export), {{code:sm2_vet_canva_v4}} (Canva export), or {{code:sm2_vet_audio_v4}} (audio) |
v4 name list (memorise your row): slides → {{code:sm2_vet_presentation_v4}} · video → {{code:sm2_vet_video_v4}} · Canva → {{code:sm2_vet_canva_v4}} · audio → {{code:sm2_vet_audio_v4}}.
Aoife's phone-repair pitch had two notes: cut text on the price slide (she accepted) and add a cracked-screen joke (she rejected for examiner tone). She copied the deck to {{code:sm2_vet_presentation_v4}}, edited the copy, and wrote both decisions on {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}}. That is today's standard.
Practise the revision workflow on a short sample before you touch your own format 1. A starter is waiting in {{code:sm2}}. You will make a v4 copy, decide accept or reject, edit (or export), and write a practice change note. Your teacher circulates for a quick spot-check; you do not wait in a long queue.
Slides (PowerPoint Online or Google Slides): follow the numbered suite steps for your cloud suite below.
CapCut, Canva, or audio: do not follow the suite steps. There is a 60-second export demo on the projector at the start of this block; after it, work through the Non-slide practice checklist below while slide classmates work. Same accept/reject and change-note rules; only the tool and export path differ.
Practice vs real work: this block uses {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_practice}} as a stand-in. For real format 1, write the change note only on {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}}.
Complete these six mini-steps during this block (about the same time as the suite path):
Follow the numbered platform steps for your suite: open starter → copy to v4 → accept one sample point with a visible edit → reject the meme → write the practice change note.
Before Independent practice: close {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_practice}}, because the practice notes were only a stand-in and nothing on them counts. For the rest of the lesson keep only {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}} open, so that every real decision lands on the one page your teacher checks. On that real page you may add a header line: {{code:REAL change notes - teacher tick here}}.
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| I only wrote "fixed it" and did not change the file | Open your v4 copy of format 1 and make a visible edit for every accepted point. A change note without a file change will not pass the teacher check. |
| I accepted every comment and the pitch now feels messy | Re-read your purpose and audience from your VET plan. Reject any suggestion that fights those, and write a one-line reason for each reject. |
| I cannot find Peer Feedback Round 1 notes | Check {{code:Project_Portfolio}}, then {{code:09_specialism}}, then {{code:sm2}} for {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}}. If the page is missing, recreate it now with that exact name and the two feedback points from memory, from your partner, or from the recovery folder, then continue. |
| My format 1 is CapCut, Canva, or audio, not slides | Use the Non-slide checklist from the practice block: export or download a publishable copy, rename it with the exact pattern ({{code:sm2_vet_video_v4}}, {{code:sm2_vet_canva_v4}}, or {{code:sm2_vet_audio_v4}}), upload or move it into {{code:sm2}}, confirm it opens from {{code:sm2}}, and write the change note on {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}} only. Ask your teacher to re-run the 60-second export demo if you missed it. |
| I renamed the original instead of making a copy | If the old draft is gone from the folder, use cloud version history with your teacher if needed. From now on: make a copy first, rename the copy to the exact v4 pattern, then edit the copy. |
| Rename will not stick / file still shows the old name | Click the title at the top of the browser tab, type the full new name, then press {{key:Enter}}. Wait for the cloud "Saved" message before you close the tab. Do not leave a file called Untitled. |
| I am still typing on the practice notes page | Close {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_practice}}. Real change notes and the teacher tick go only on {{code:sm2_peer_feedback_round_1}}. |
